Khem Chhetri (खेम बहादुर क्षेत्री) has spent more than two decades serving Nepal through military leadership, human rights advocacy, education, law, peacekeeping, and the arts.
Born in Palpa District, Nepal, Khem Bahadur Chhetri pursued an interdisciplinary academic path that includes English Literature, Human Rights, Law, Political Science, and a PhD in Human Rights from Nepal Sanskrit University under a University Grants Commission scholarship.
During his 22-year military career, he served in multiple United Nations peacekeeping missions in Sudan, South Sudan, Western Sahara, and Syria. He later became a prominent voice for nonviolence, peacebuilding, and what he describes as “Survival Politics”—a philosophy centered on sustainable peace, human dignity, and the protection of life.
